SingZ — Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 August 2026
SingZ is a practice tool for singers. It plays songs you already own, split into separate instrument and vocal tracks, with synced lyrics. This policy describes what the SingZ Android app does with your information.
The short version: SingZ has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. It talks to exactly one outside service — Google Drive, and only when you choose to sign in, and only to reach the song files you put there yourself. Everything else stays on your phone.
What SingZ accesses
Songs on your device. SingZ plays song folders you copy onto the phone or pick with the Android folder picker. These files are read directly from storage you selected. They are never uploaded anywhere.
Google Drive (only if you sign in). Signing in is optional; SingZ works
without it. If you do sign in, SingZ requests a single permission,
drive.file. This is the narrowest Drive permission Google offers: it grants
access only to files created or opened with SingZ — in practice, the
SingZ folder your desktop copy of the app writes to. SingZ cannot see, list or
read any other file in your Drive.
Your Google account email address. When you sign in, Google returns your email address alongside the access token. SingZ displays it so you can tell which account a library is coming from. It is stored on the phone and sent nowhere.
What SingZ stores, and where
- Downloaded songs — in the app's private storage, so they play offline. Removing a song from the app, or uninstalling it, deletes them.
- Google sign-in tokens — in the app's private preferences, so you do not sign in every time. Signing out deletes them.
- A list of your song folders — the names and sizes of projects in your Drive folder, so the library opens instantly and works with no signal.
- A diagnostic log — the same messages shown in the app's Log panel, kept on the phone so a problem can be described after the fact. You choose whether to share it, using Android's normal share sheet.
All of this lives in app-private storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to the developer or to anyone else.
What SingZ does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage measurement.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No crash-reporting or third-party SDKs that phone home.
- No user accounts, and no server operated by the developer — there is nowhere for your data to be sent.
- No selling or sharing of personal information. Ever, and to anyone.
Google user data — limited use
SingZ's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, data obtained from Google Drive is used only to provide the song-library features you see in the app; it is not transferred to anyone else, not used for advertising, and not read by any human.
Removing your data
- Downloaded songs: use “Free up space” in the app, or uninstall it.
- Google sign-in: sign out in the app to delete the stored tokens.
- Revoking Drive access entirely: visit your Google Account permissions page and remove SingZ.
- Everything: uninstalling SingZ removes all app-private storage, including songs, tokens, the catalog and the log.
Children
SingZ is a general-audience music practice tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
